Media Training from Veteran Journalists

There is no shortage of media agencies and communications consultants in the UAE - but very few are led by people who have spent their careers inside the world’s top newsrooms.

Greg Tanner and Sarah Forster bring more than 40 years of combined experience as senior journalists and editorial leaders with organisations including the BBC, Bloomberg, ITN, Sky News and The National. Their careers have seen them work alongside some of the most recognisable anchors and reporters in global television news, on interviews with CEOs, world leaders and internationally known public figures.

After extensive careers in the UK, Greg and Sarah have now lived and worked in the UAE for a combined 18 years, giving them a deep understanding of the region’s culture, audience expectations and media landscape.

Both also have on-camera reporting and presenting experience, so they know first-hand the pressure of speaking live - and what it takes to do it well.

After 15 years in some of London's most well-respected newsrooms, Greg relocated to Dubai with Bloomberg in 2017 to lead the significant expansion of their Middle East and Africa television operation. There, he was instrumental in shaping editorial strategy as Executive Producer.

The role saw him deeply involved in preparing anchors for high-profile interviews with CEOs, government ministers and celebrities - from research and question formulation to interview structure and tone.

Greg himself has interviewed everyone from basketball stars Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant to former UK Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron.

Greg later took charge of the multimedia department at The National, one of the region’s largest English-language news organisations, where he helped grow monthly video views from 14 million to 145 million and YouTube subscribers from 600k to 700k.

After more than a quarter of a century in the industry, Greg has a deep understanding of how to create compelling content, what makes a great interview and how to develop strategies that keep audiences coming back.

Trained at the BBC in London, Sarah went on to sharpen her editorial skills at Sky News and Bloomberg television in both on-air and editorial roles.

At Bloomberg, Sarah was a key liaison between anchors, producers and high-profile guests, working with the on-air talent and programme editor not only to book the big interviews, but also make sure everyone was properly briefed to ensure maximum value from the conversations. A key part of this role was to identify high quality soundbites from guests to cut and replay.

Following her time in TV news, Sarah became News Editor at The National in Abu Dhabi, the country's leading English-speaking online news outlet. Besides managing a team of 16 reporters and editors, and regularly appearing on camera for various digital content, Sarah interviewed and covered high profile visitors to the UAE such as HRH Prince William and the President of Slovenia.

Sarah specialises in preparing CEOs and industry leaders for high-pressure interviews, bringing sharp editorial judgment, on-camera expertise and a calm, confidence-building coaching style.
